What To Expect

Day 1: Arrive in Cairo

Upon arrival at the airport, a representative will greet you and transfer you to the prestigious Le Méridien Pyramids Hotel & Spa. Settle in with a refreshing welcome drink and enjoy a hassle-free check-in. Afterward, a tour consultant will review your itinerary and confirm all of your transfer and tour pickup times. The rest of the day is yours to relax and prepare for your adventure.

Day 2: The Wonders of Cairo

After breakfast, meet your guide and driver for a full day of sightseeing. Your first stop is the Giza Plateau, home to the Great Pyramid of Khufu—the only surviving wonder of the ancient world. You’ll also see the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, along with the mysterious Great Sphinx.

Next, you’ll visit the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, designed by French architect Marcel Dourgnon. Inside, explore over 120,000 artifacts spanning from the pre-dynastic era to the Greco-Roman period, including the famous funerary treasures of King Tutankhamun. Many visitors find the exhibits on the art of mummification especially fascinating.

The tour continues in Coptic Cairo with a visit to the Hanging Church, a basilica uniquely situated atop the south gate of the Babylon Fortress. Conclude your day at the vibrant Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, a major souk in the Islamic district, before returning to your hotel for the night.

Day 3: Fly to Luxor and Board Your Dahabiya

Begin your day with a short flight to Luxor. Your Egyptologist guide will meet you upon arrival and take you to the magnificent Karnak Temple complex, the largest place of worship ever built. The ancient Egyptians called it “Ipet-isut,” or “The Most Sacred of Places.” You’ll be awed by the Hypostyle Hall’s forest of giant pillars.

After a casual lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll head to the Valley of the Kings, where ancient pharaohs were buried in magnificent, rock-carved tombs filled with treasures for the afterlife. Then, visit the stunning mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahary, a unique structure that rises in a series of terraces and blends with the surrounding cliffs.

Finally, you will be transferred to Esna to board your Dahabiya river boat, where you will spend the night.

Day 4: Cruise to Edfu and the Speos of Hormoheb

Your cruise continues from Esna to Edfu. Upon arrival, you’ll disembark for a horse-carriage ride to the spectacular Temple of Horus, one of Egypt’s best-preserved temples. Afterward, you can explore the Edfu souk for a bit of shopping before sailing on to the Speos of Hormoheb.

In the evening, a special dinner will be served right at the site of the ancient chapel, which will be beautifully illuminated for an unforgettable experience. You will spend the night on board the Dahabiya.

Day 5: Sailing the Nile

Enjoy a tranquil day sailing along the Nile. You will cruise to Kom Ombo to visit the unique Temple of Sobek. This fascinating complex consists of two perfectly symmetrical temples, each dedicated to a different god.

After exploring the temples, you’ll sail to a small, secluded island near Aswan. Dinner will be served on the island, offering a peaceful and scenic end to your day. You’ll spend the night on the Dahabiya.

Day 6: Aswan's Treasures

After breakfast on board, you’ll disembark for a tour of Aswan’s popular attractions. Visit the breathtaking Temple of Philae, located on its own island, and stroll through the vibrant Aswan souk.<br />

Day 7: Fly Back from Aswan to Cairo

After breakfast, take your flight from Aswan back to Cairo. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay and enjoy your final evening in the capital.
